The promotion of Family Planning in resource poor settings has been identified as a key factor in the Sustainable Development Goals. Contraception or Family Planning is not only key to reproductive health and life provision, it is a human right.
MAMA helped to improve resourcing and facilities at Tonya’s Health Centre.
Tonya is a village located in the Hoima District, along the Eastern shores of Lake Albert and lies approximately 45 km from Hoima town. For the two years up until June 2015 Tonya had no midwife. Now with the arrival of Viola, the new midwife, the government have increased the clinic to a Health Centre III.
