Access to maternal health care comes up time and time again in many health reports in reducing maternal mortality in a resource poor setting. The population of women accessing Azur Health Centre come from many afar villages, often walking for miles.

MAMA recognises the central importance of the role of the midwife in providing safe maternity care. We aim to empower and promote the advocacy of Ugandan midwives towards improving all aspects of maternal and perinatal health, in particular by promoting skilled birth attendance and health facility delivery.
