Today is World Blood Donor Day and MAMA is proud to be a part of a team who regularly makes its premises available to the Ugandan blood transfusion service. Every three months the Red Cross set up in our clinic and our staff and local community come to donate a unit of blood. The blood is then sent to Kampala for screening, then distributed around Uganda.
We have had many women, men and children benefit from a unit or two of blood who come through our clinics. Complications arising from childbirth, malaria, road traffic accidents and trauma are the most common. #giveblood #givebloodsavelives #donateblood

So we actually made it....we moved into our new premises today!! Thank you to everyone who has supported us in this venture during some difficult times.

A huge thank you to our U.K. and Ugandan team for spending the best part of 10 hours moving equipment, furniture and patients, and then unpacking. Lots of hot, sweaty and very dirty members of staff this evening!

Thank you too to Simon who very kindly helped us move furniture using his truck, this reduced our trips back and forth immensely.

There are still a few things to sort out and finish off, but the clinic is open and functioning this evening. #werein #movingday

The new MAMA Grace Clinic is looking amazing, but unfortunately not finished yet. We have to be out of our rental property on Monday and there’s still plenty of things which need finishing off first. Lots of fingers and toes crossed the plumber, carpenter and electrician pull it off! #wehaveadeadline #newclinic
