New outreach clinic in 2017

Kyarushesha was our new outreach clinic for 2017 and has now been running for almost a year. We see around 85 pregnant mothers every six weeks, plus other women for family planning. We have seen an increase in uptake of family planning over the last six months.

The families in Kyarushesha have accepted MAMA as part of their village life and welcome us each time we visit. Mothers return with their antenatal cards to receive care, most managing the recommended 6 antenatal visits as recommended by the WHO.

MAMA has been able to arrange referral for at least two mothers at each visit to Azur Clinic for delivery or treatment since we started and we have been able to take some mothers home again with their babies. High risk mothers are identified and advised to deliver in a health centre 4 or above.

On the visit in December 2017, MAMA distributed MAAMA kits to all the mothers in readiness for their delivery.
